Ultra-Staff has been designed as a Multiple Document Interface (MDI) application. This means that within the program, several unique processes (forms, records, views, etc.) can be visible at the same time. All of the forms that make up the application, such as the applicant master, client master, job orders, etc., are all children of the MDI parent. The main menu is part of the MDI parent as is the main container (or desktop) area for all of the forms that are the application. The elements of the main MDI container are defined below:

There is a Horizontal Menu on the top of the screen, which provides different options than are found on the Vertical Menu.
